Catching Up

So, ALOT has happened since I posted last. Tabitha had her first birthday. She's walking now. We had 2 family date nights, one we went to Valencia and stayed overnight because I had a work event, and the other was going to the 66er game in San Bernardino. Then, Micah and I went on a date to Magic Mountain. In order to summarize alot of it, I'll just post a lot of pictures with some comments. Hope you enjoy!!!!!

Family Date Night - Valencia

I had to go to Valencia for work. Micah and Tabs went with me, and while I was at my meetings, they went to Chuck E Cheese. It was Tabitha's first time. As you'll see it completely wore her out!!!

My Morning Surprise!

Tabitha is an artist! Imagine our surprise when Tabitha comes crawling up with a huge smile on her face. I look down and she is holding a marker in one hand and the cap in the other. Her hands were covered in green marker stains!!! I gasped as she grabbed the arm of the sofa! I looked around and saw her beautiful drawing she had left Micah and I ON THE FLOOR! We had to laugh!!!! Thank goodness it wiped right up!

Summer's Coming!

We've been getting ready for summertime! We bought a cute little blow up pool and a trampoline! It's been so much fun. Tabitha's 1st Birthday is next week, and we've been crazy busy planning for that. Tabs is moving into the Toddler class at school, and cutting 4 new teeth! So we have lots going on, and we're loving every minute of it! Life is crazy!

Friday night, after cranky Tabs went to bed, Judi, Micah and I decorated Easter Eggs. The early Saturday morning we went to the Ward's Easter Egg Hunt. After that we went out to breakfast at IHop, then came back to the house to start preparing for the family coming over. At 2pm, my parents, Aryn, Judy, Kathy and my Grandma all showed up for an Easter egg hunt, barbque and to watch a video about Christ. Then on Sunday we went over to my mom's house for another egg hunt and Easter dinner. I love Easter!

My Birthday!

Oh my gosh! I'm 28! It sounds so OLD!!!! For my birthday Micah had his mom come over and babysit Tabitha so we could go to a movie. We saw "Knowing". It's only our 2nd date since Tabs was born (she's 10 months old). So, I was in desperate need of a date. Then on Saturday he took me to PF Changs (my favorite restaurant). On Sunday my mom cooked me dinner and Aryn made me brownies. I love birthdays! Oh, and my parents got me a gift basket full of popcorn and a new popcorn popper. And some other stuff. It was great!

This month has put our family through so many ups and downs. But, I'm so excited about the ups that I had to blog about some of them!!!!

For Tab's 9 month birthday she CRAWLED!!!! And on top of that, she crawled FORWARD!!!! For a few weeks she had been scooting backwards, but on her 9 month birthday, she propped herself up on all fours and took off. It's been no stopping her ever since!!!! She also began standing up. It's so cool!!!! We were so shocked when we walked into her room and found her just standing there waiting for us to come pick her up. Tabitha also graduated from her therapy. She's been going since she was 2 months old because of her torticollis. We'll miss Dr. Judy, but we're glad to move on from that! We knew this time was coming anyways because Tabs development has skyrocketed since she started daycare. (These pictures were taken when Tabs was 4 months old, look how much she's changed!!!)

Micah took Judi out snowboarding. He taught her how to do jumps. It's their favorite Daddy Daughter time.

Family Date Night

For Valentines Day we decided to have a "Family Date Night". The girls woke up to lots of goodies. They each had a little stuffed animal with some candy and a Valentines Day outfit for our Date Night. We took them to the "Friends 2B Made" store in Ontario Mills.

We wanted to take them before they close down on August 2, 2009. Judi and Tabitha each picked out their dolls. Then we went over, and they picked out their dolls new heart.

They took the heart in their hand, rubbed it, then gave it a kiss before sewing up into the doll. Then they put their foot on the stuffing pumper and filled up their dolls.

The next step is to put them in the groomer chair and do their hair.

Once they are all glamoured up, then you move on to pick out an outfit.

After the dolls are all done we go over to the computers and create a birth certificate for each doll. Judi named her doll "Alexis Texas" (like Hannah Montana), and Tabitha named her doll "Baby Tab".

After we were done we went over to "Mel's Diner" and picked out whatever we wanted from the menu. Each of us had a huge meal with a desert. While we were enjoying our food we all selected songs from the Juke Box and listened for them to play.

We had a blast! I love Family Date Night! I'm thinking of making it a tradition!

Tabitha's First School Party!

For Valentines Day, Tabitha's class had a party! She had cheese pizza (for her first time) for lunch, and she LOVED it!!!! Then they had cookies and cupcakes. Now, as everyone knows, eating for a baby is messy business. So, in order to preserve the clothes, they stripped all the babies down to their diapers and let them at it! I was able to come in for a little while at the end.

All her friends are Taylor, Daryl, and then of course Tabitha!

Also, if you look below the table, you'll see that they probably didn't eat very much of it! It looks as if most of it ended up on the floor.

Tabitha just LOVES to play at her preschool/daycare. She is learning some of the basic fundamental skills that will help her continue to develop. Such as crawling....

Of course she works so hard that by the time we are ready to go home she is so exhausted!

Merry Christmas Cont...

For Christmas Eve we always get new PJs.

The rule in the Martin home is that no one can wake Mom & Dad up until 6:00 a.m. Christmas morning came and in came Judi at 4:45 a.m. Micah asked Judi what she was doing waking up so early? She said that her clock showed 5:45 a.m. We had forgotten to change her clock after day light savings time. So, he sent her back to bed. She came in again around 5:45 a.m. This time we went ahead and got up. We went downstairs to see all the presents from each other and Santa. We took turns and opened each present. We are so blessed. Thank you Lord.

It was so nice to be able to see our families. We really had the best Christmas ever!

It Was A Merry Christmas!

Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this. Christmas time is my favorite holiday of the year! This year was especially more special because it was Tabitha's first Christmas and our families first Christmas in our new home!!! Some of the "Martin Family Traditions include: going to see the Christmas lights in Alta Loma, picking out our Christmas Tree, decorating it, decorated our home (in & out), shopping, pictures with Santa, lettes to Santa, and celebrating each and every moment. So, below is a little more detail on everything we did.

First we went to the Bass Pro Shop and the girls (Judi & Tabitha) got their pictures taken with Santa. Oma & Pap joined us. While we were in line, Mrs. Clause came around to visit us.

After "Pictures with Santa" we went and had lunch in the restaurant then went to the shooting range inside Bass Pro Shop. All of us took turns.

Then Judi climbed the rock wall. She made it all the way to the top!

After that we went to JCPenney where Judi dropped off her letter to Santa in his special mailbox. For every letter sent, they are supposed to donate $1 to charity, up to $1 million.

Once the letter was mailed we headed off to pick out our Christmas Tree. We never have a hard time agreeing on which tree to pick, so this process is usually very easy. Tabitha enjoyed looking at the trees.

Our next order of business was to decorate the tree. Everyone helped, even Tabitha. She layed on the floor and told us where to put the ornaments. Here is a picture of The Martin Family in front of our Christmas Tree. The girls were wearing their matching Christmas dresses.

I had so much fun decorating my house this year for Christmas. Micah worked with his friend Felix and Papa to get all the lights up outside. We loved having Christmas in our new home!!!
For our Family Home Evening one night we decided to decorate a Gingerbread House. Then about a week after Christmas, we ate it! We also had the opportunity to bake cookies and make fudge.

The Rialto 1st Ward Activities Committe asked if me and my family would put on the Nativity Scene for our Ward Christmas Party. We told a story and invited the children from the audience to come and participate. It was nice to be able to do something that reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas.

This year we had Christmas Eve dinner at our home! Because Grandma broke her hip last month, we first went and brought her dinner and visited for awhile. After that we went back to our home and had dinner and opened some presents. Then we hung out and played pool and just spent time together with my family.

Happy Halloween!

We had a fabulous Halloween this year. It's our very first Halloween in our new home! All the family from the Bourland side came over.

Tara made yummy Halloween food. From eyeball deviled eggs to a chocolate cemetary cake, it all tasted delicious. I decided to make chocolate cake because my Grandpa's birthday was on Halloween, and all growing up we always had chocolate cake on Halloween to celebrate his birthday. It never feels quite like Halloween without our chocolate cake. So the chocolate cake was in memory of my Grandpa.

Judi dressed up as a pretty witch and Tabitha was a cute lady bug. Conner dressed up as an Army Man (he said he was Uncle Robby) and Robbin was a beautiful princess. We put "Yes on Prop 8" stickers on all our candy we handed out. But, only about 20 kids came :( We love having our family come over and celebrate the holidays with us.

Micah and Judi decorated our front yard. They did such a good job. It looked GREAT!

Then on Saturday we went to our ward Trunk or Treat.
We had SO much candy left over from Halloween we talked my parents into setting up their trunk and passing it out for us. Oma brought her blow up Haunted House and we put it between both our cars. This way the kids could walk through the Haunted House when going in between our cars. All the kids LOVED it! Overall, I'd say our first Halloween in our new area went pretty well :)

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we went to the pumpkin patch (al la Walmart) and we all picked out our very own pumpkins. Then this afternoon we all picked out our own pattern to carve and away we went.

Judi carved a cat, Tabitha just a regular face, Micah a scarecrow, and I carved a pumpkin face on fire. This is Tabitha's first year carving pumpkins.

As you can see she was in awe!

In the end our pumpkins came out looking fabulous and we all had a lot of fun!

My Grandma....What Big Ears You Have?!?!

Tara decided to go to her grandmother's house to visit.

Micah and I went to a Halloween Party last Saturday that Kristina and Jay threw. It was SO much fun. Plus, we won the cutest costume couple contest. We love Halloween. It's one of our favorite holidays.

Kenyon Park

This morning we went to Kenyon Park with the Rialto First Ward Elder's Quorum. It was great, except no one else showed up! But, we didn't care because we had more fun with just our family. It was the very first time Tabitha's ever been to a park. We rode our bikes and Judi played on the playground. It was the first time I've ever been able to ride my new bike. We bought it last summer then I ended up pregnant! So, it was so much fun for us all to try out the bike trails. Judi is getting so good on her bike. Like a seasoned pro! Before we left I took Tabitha on a walk around the park. We had a blast!

Cake & Pie

Next we went home, opened presents, and had cake and pie to celebrate Judi and Micah's birthdays. Both our families came (Robertson & Bourland). Then the girls stayed up late watching movies and eating popcorn. Katelyn went home around 11pm, and Madison stayed the night. The party was SO MUCH FUN! Happy Birthday Judi!!!!!!

Rainforest Cafe

After we went to the "Friends 2B Made" store we went to the "Rainforest Cafe" and had dinner. Tabitha was almost eaten by the aligator, but Micah saved her just in time! We all had so much fun!

Judi's 10th Birthday Party!

On Saturday we celebrated Judi's 10th Birthday. She invited Katelyn and Madison. First we went to the "Friends 2B Made" store in Ontario Mills. They were holding a charity event and all the girls were able to make a doll that was going to be donated to charity. Once that was over each girl picked out their own doll, stuffed her, set her up in a chair and styled her hair, dressed her, then gave her a name. The girls decided to pick the same doll, but give them their own personalities through their different outfits.

Micah's 34th Birthday

Micah and I celebrated his 34th birthday today by going out to our favorite Sushi Restaurant: "B&F BarBQue and Sushi" in Ontario. Our favorite sushi chef, Irving, was there. He helped Micah celebrate his birthday Sushi Style by giving him a complimentary Tuna Steak and bowl of ice cream. Everyone in the restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" to him! We love Irving! Irving used to live in Utah and enjoys talking with us about our church. After sushi we went to Edwards Theater in Ontario and saw the "Dark Knight!" It was SO good! Thank you Aunty Kristen for watching Tabitha so we could go on our first date since she was born. Love you!

Tabitha Turned Over!!!!!

Tonight Tabitha turned over from her back to her tummy for the very first time! Daddy and I were so surprised!!!! I think we may have scared her a little with all the cheering we were doing. But, as you can see, she was pretty proud of herself :)

Goodbye Uncle Robby!

Uncle Robby left to be stationed in Germany for the Air Force on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008. On Sunday we had a big family dinner with him and said our "Goodbyes." We will miss him alot. We are very proud of him and his desire to serve for our freedom. We thank him for his great sacrifice. It is because of people like him, that devote their entire lives to our country, that we are able to live in a free country like our own. This will be a great adventue for him, and even though we are sad that he is leaving we are excited for this new experience he will get to have. We pray for his safe return to us. WE LOVE YOU ROBBY!

Tabitha's Jump-A-Roo

The doctor says Tabitha needs to work on strengthening her neck, arms, and leg muscles. So, we went out and bought her, her very first jumper! She was so excited about it! But, it might be a little longer until she can use it for her legs because as you can see her feet can't even touch the ground yet!

Tabitha Meets Uncle Robby!

Today Tabitha met her Uncle Robby for the first time. He is visiting from Texas. Uncle Robby is in the Air Force working in Security Forces. He will be down for 1 1/2 weeks before he is deployed to Germany for 2 years. We met Uncle Robby at Chili's and had lunch with him, Aunty Kristen, Conner, Robbin, Micah, Tara and Tabitha.

Our First Blog

Hello Everyone!

I am happy to say that we've caught up with the times and created our very first blog! Tabitha and Judi took pictures together today. Someone came up to us in Babies R Us and asked if they could practice on Tabitha & Judi and we would receive a free picture. So we agreed (of course). The pictures came out so cute I ended up purchasing some of them.
